It's a little tough to tell from the pics, but could it be a water hiacynth?

Looks good to me on google. I read this is something that would need an aquarium without a top with the flowers hitting up to 6" high? Unfortunately, I have a couple jumpers that would love that to happen lol so they might not be able to bloom or will they still bloom and just go sideways? Anyone else keep this?

I tried once, indoors, on a smaller tank that was open-topped and had a strong bulb over it. I did not think the purchase through well, and an apple snail ate 3/4 of it in under an hour. It did not last long after that.

From what I know, they need high light, and I think most people only use them in ponds (because of the lidless-high-light-needs).

I believe this is a federal weed (Eichhornia sp.). You cannot sell/trade it in US.
