Anyone know what this is? (Red bump under betta’s face)

I had this appear on a female betta in a different tank a month or so ago, and I assumed it to be an injury (that’s what it looked like at the time), and I treated it as such. She passed a few days later.
Now the same thing has appeared on a female in this tank, but just the one. It’s almost exactly the same as the first time.... a red lump on the right side, on the bottom of their head. Anyone know what this would be?

(I can try for some better pictures later if needed, but she’s a very active fish)

My first thought is same as yours: an injury. Kind of makes me think though pf when a person has a pimple forming that doesn't have a head on it.

Was there any further growth on the one that passed that you noticed or remember?

Sorry about your Betta who passed hopefully someone with more experience can tell you what’s going on, my best guest would be some kind of tumor. You could try getting pictures of her either right before the lights get turned off or after she’s been asleep for a while. Hopefully she gets better!!

I treated for this last time, and it had no effect. I can definitely try again this time though, perhaps it would work.

it really does look like a pimple XD
It’s just really strange that it’s in the EXACT SAME spot. Same side and everything. (I’m looking for pictures from last time)
I don’t recall any further growth, it didn’t really change at all

Could very well be a tumor... perhaps a malignant one or something?
But again, kinda strange that it would be in the exact same spot... (though not impossible)

Perhaps it’s an ulcer? Again I’m just guessing as I’m not to familiar with growths on fish but if you had another fish have this exact thing, perhaps it’s some kind of bacteria that has found it’s way to your fish through the equipment used or maybe even the water or food if it’s shared

Yeah...the pimple part made me wonder about further growth...like a cyst or something. Certainly not a great place for a growth, for sure. Could really affect eating at the least.

She seems to have no trouble eating currently, which is good

I can try treating it like an ulcer, that’s probably the best bet

The only thing I can think that can do those are what is mentioned above, septicemia, ammonia/nitrate poisoning, hemorragic, furunclosis, and I guess tumors.
