Hi all, anyone know if these lights are any good? I like that it's under $100. I have a current light I like on my 20 gallon but for this size it's almost triple the price.

Any other recommendations in the $100 range if this is poorly reviewed by you?

I’ve got a 48” current and many other lights. Thoughts on current is they put more money into the box they come in that the light itself . For me the best bang for the buck I’d the hygger 957. Around $100 and as good as the fluval. When I bought the first one it was $75 shipped. They’ve gone up in price since than but are still cheap enough.

So this one would be it? By the description it actually sounds better than the nicrew

I think aquarium lights are overrated. I use LED floodlights from a home store, they cost from $7 to $25 depending on size and wattage, which depends on the tank size and whether or not you want to grow plants. The only disadvantage is that they cannot be dimmed. On the tank of the Altums we set up two 10W lights to turn on initially and later switch on the main lights to avoid shocking the fish when the lights first go on as that room is quite dark.

Yes that’s it and a great price too! They were selling a year ago for almost twice that!! I have them on both discus tanks. Really a lot of options on these lights. There’s intensity or there’s color. As in you can make the tank red, blue or green or mixtures of colors. So not just for planted tanks but good if you want to bring out the fish’s colors.

In the reviews, people claim they are difficult to program, would you say thats true, or just the usual crowd that doesn't read and follow the instructions that come with things?

Also read that it runs hot at higher intensities, would you say thats true? Like hot enough to burn a baby?

Actually just purchased one of these lights (hygger 957) I had gotten the Nicrew sky led plus a week before, and after hearing all the hype about the hygger light I decided to order it aswell knowing I can return the one I don't want. Well the Nicrew sky led is noticeably brighter, the timer is way easier and more natural. And it uses less watts and has more lumens than the hygger! I personally think the Nicrew sky led plus is better, it's $20 cheaper aswell! I made my own post asking what folks thought of these 2 lights. But I think the Nicrew having lower watts, higher lumens and $20 less is the better light! But that's just speculation
