I never did get myself to look deeply into how to selectively breed guppies for desired colors.
There's a fish store near me who apparently breeds beautiful HB red/blue with huge delta tails and large dorsals, with the skyblue color at the base of the tail and cherry red on the rest.. they breed around 95% true, but sells them for only 3 dollars each. It's an amazing deal, but I already have my yellow/green snakeskin line (unfortunately, not much of a strain, since they only breed around 60% true).
So I was wondering what kind of appearance will turn up from breeding a HB male to a SS female, or an SS male to a HB female?
Would the true HB help with making a more consistent strain (though changed appearance) compared to the SS I have now? Will it completely dominate the SS body pattern and just make HB?
