Anyone have pictures or videos of your Cherry Barbs to share?

I'm thinking about getting some Cherry Barbs, but would like to see some of your pics and videos before I finally take the plunge and get them.

I'd appreciate it if you would also say how many Cherry Barbs you have total and your male to female ratio.

Any advice or observations about them would be great, too.

Barbs are like sixteen year old boys always up to mischief.

Cherry barbs are one of the most underrated species. A peaceful little fish that can handle a wide variety of water parameters and conditions. An excellent species for beginner and long timer alike in my opinion.
They may not show their best colour when young or in a shop tank? Feed them with a variety of food a little at a time like any fish and they will colour up.
Yes they are like any teenagers but you will not be overrun with fry because they eat the eggs and should any fry make it they will likely be eaten as well . A very small fry that requires a bit of effort to raise as it eats tiny food but it can be done with effort in a separate tank.

I think I definitely have more males than females but everyone seems to get along, including the few small juveniles I have added.

Like all fish I believe a bigger group is better. Let’s say 8 as a minimum not what is often said as 5 or6 minimum.
This is the only snapshot I have currently.
Since this photo they have coloured up more.

I have 8 cherry barbs; 6 females (3 are veil tail) and 2 males. Never have any issue with too much aggression; just some mild chasing here and there. I highly recommend them!

I don't have any good pictures, but they are certainly stunning to watch.
I had aggression within my group. I had a male that liked to chase the others around the tank and I lost a few fish in the beginning, but my six are all getting along now and not hiding like they used to. And I'm pretty sure I have more males than females.

My only problem is that they have learned to scavenge the food that reaches the substrate and that has me keeping a close eye on my Panda Corys. They will even pick at shrimp pellets.

I don't have a picture, but they are stunning! I totally agree with Flyfisha, I thought that all of the cherry barbs in the fish store were females lol, but in the end two of them were males. they colored up within two days of settling into the new tank! in my opinion, throw some frozen brine shrimp into the tank, and stand back!
