Anyone Going To See The Last Jedi? As A Plus, What Is Your Favorite Star Wars Movie? No Spoilers!

Going this Saturday and am soooo excited!!

I've got to say that my favorite movie is either Return of the JedI or The Force Awakens. Can't pick between the better acting of TFA vs. Vader turning back to the light in RotJ.

So, are you going to see The Last JedI yet?
And what are your favorite Star Wars films?

Man...hard to pick my favorite...But it's gotta be between empire, rogue one, and revenge of the sith. But really...you can't go wrong with any of them except episode 1 and 2.

But I'll definitely be seeing the new one. Can't wait.

I've seen them all and will probably see this one too. Although I always get excited about a new Star Wars movie, for me, the hype is always better than the experience itself. I can't say I have a personal favorite.

Yeah, I've been really psyching myself up to watch The Last Jedi. I've watched the trailer about 20 times!
As a P.S., another cool Star Wars video I found on YouTube that I can't help but share (even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the new movie)...but I thought it was so cool I couldn't not show it to you guys.

WTFish?

I saw one very similar in Nashville when the force awakens came out. Something to the effect "To text and drive is the way of the dark side"

Going this Friday after watching Force Awakens. I've been watching one a night leading up
has anyone else noticed that Aunt Beru doesn't have a costume? she's wearing a jean jacket and a floral shirt

I think my favorite would have to be Revenge of the Sith, although I thought Rogue One was very well done.
I'll take my son over the holidays, my wife has no interest.

You're right, she doesn't!

I also love Revenge of the Sith - it's in my top 4!

Favourites in order would probably be Jedi, Empire, Force awakens. Ep. 1, 2, and 3 are OK, they should have gotten Lawrence Kasdan to write them as well!

No. The ones since the first three were a real let down, and the last one was just plain awful.

Like most movies the first was the best. The second two were good but the ones that followed were a complete waist of time, in my not so humble opinion.

the phantom menace? really? I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone say that's their favorite.

Favorite for me would be a hard choice between empire, revenge of the sith, and rogue one. This one is at least in the conversation for the next best group with return of the jedi, force awakens, and now last jedi. Though my opinion may change the further I get away from seeing it.

Well, I got to see The Last JedI tonight. A bit dark, even darker than episode 5. Yet uplifting in the end. I was worried, as I heard that a lot of people didn't like it; I think they just didn't understand it. I did, but it wasn't easy.

I saw the first Star Wars, Episode 4, on the first day it was released. There had been no hype, and there were about 4 or 5 people in the theatre. Then the word started getting around, and a week after it started there were lines around the multiplex building waiting to see it.

Do I have a favorite? The more I think about it, the closer I get to saying no, no favorites. Maybe the first, but only for dragging me into their universe. But it seems so primitive now, even though I saw it in the theatre 7-8 times. The remaster really didn't fix/add anything significant.

If there was one real complaint, it's the humor. It reminded me too much of the Marvel movies, which works well in the MCU, but took me out of the moment a little in this. You know, the awkward moment where the good guys make the bad guys look stupid But I really enjoyed this. Much better than Rogue One and The Force Awakens.

Agreed! Return of the JedI is my favorite! I very much enjoyed Force and Rogue One too. I have my tickets! For JANUARY 6th!! The anticipation is getting difficult, but we're going to see it at a unique theater in Key West for my son's birthday.

Loving this thread! I hope we can keep it spoiler free for awhile.

I've not seen any of the new ones yet. My wife hasn't even seen any of the Star Wars...so likely once we get time, which will be in a few years at this rate, we'll watch all of them and hopefully it will still be on Netflix or something like that.

Yeah, let's keep this one spoiler-free. If we REALLY need to discuss what happened, let's make another thread!
And stella1979 I also love Return of the Jedi, and you're a much stronger person than I am to wait that long to see it! I commend you!!

LOL. I meant to write this earlier, but that's the funniest thing I've read all week. Thanks for the laughs.

I watched it recently and I didn’t really like it, thought it was ok at most. Of course I’m not a star wars fan either(or anti-fan), and I can be harsh on movies sometimes, but I just really didn’t care much for this one. I did like the force awakens a lot, but the others not so much. This one just seemed to be all over the place and didn’t answer a pretty big question. The only thing I really liked was the fight scene with the red people(don’t want to spoil anything). That was really enjoyable. Then again, maybe I didn’t enjoy it simply because I didn’t enjoy it, it was like that with Wonder Woman. Had zero reason to dislike it, I just didn’t. Although I do think they got the best actor they could’ve for Wonder Woman, just didn’t like it personally.

This picture is several months old, and the reef tank is a little prettier now, but I had to share this anyway.

Yeah we saw it opening weekend. I liked it but it did seem kind of like a jumbled up mess. So many things going on. So many big questions either not answered or answered kind of...meh. Overall I liked it about the same as TFA. But for different reasons. There were more highs and more lows in this than TFA but overall I enjoyed both about equally.

The long wait is over. Finally saw The Last JedI on Saturday night in Key West. Loved it! Didn't love the retro theater so much. The place is surely something to see, but in the end a small screen and popcorn au naturale didn't impress me. (Salt? Butter? Nope.. choke, choke.).
