Between a home-schooled kid and a regular-schooled kid? Well, besides different schedules, a lot of people say that home-schoolers are less shy. But my sister is SO shy, I mean, she's very quiet around other people. Whereas I on the other hand, I'm bold and crazy LOL!

But, sadly, I don't have the benefit of going to school to make friends, so I typically only have online friends with only one friend in real life. It kinda sucks when you have no one to hang out with except with the computer, especially because when the internet fails, you're all alone!

Also, maybe it's just our family, but we're notorious for going to bed very late.

And btw, school is still NOT fun or exciting, no we do not enjoy it lol! People are forever asking me, "Oh, do you enjoy it?" And I'm like, "No, because it's still school. And I'm still being taught things that I have absolutely no interest in learning, most of it being stuff that I'll never use in the real world unless I get a job where it specifically requires that sort of knowledge. And even then, I'll still have to go to college to learn everything again on that subject in detail!"

So yeah......

Guess I'm old-fashioned then! I still do most of my work with a workbook! Lol, oh well! If I am researching something online though, Wikipedia is the place where I usually am haha.

I don't know where that came from.... I'm SUPER shy and have a hard time socializing with kids my age (mostly because there interested in weird teenager things )

Wikipedia is usually a terrible source. Anyone can change it. If you ever have to write a paper for a class (high school and above), NEVER use/cite wikipedia.

Well, I have a harder time socializing with kids my age too, I get along much better with people who are a few years older than me. Maybe because kids my age just like to talk about what's going on at school, and I have nothing to contribute there lol.

EDIT: TexasDomer, a lot of times, Wikipedia is just used to refresh my memory or something, like on movies. It also helps give me an idea on how to word things properly. It works well for summing things up, imo.

I use work books too so I'm "old fashioned"

I would love to keep doing work out of books, just online school is more convenient for my Mom, (she has her hands full with my sassy younger sister )

So are you home-schooled? Or regular-schooled?

Basically, just the schoolwork. You get your schoolwork assignments for each day, and then you do them. Simple. With home school though, you're not forced to sit through class when you're finished with whatever you're doing, when you're done you're done, so it's got that much going for it. Also, your vacation times and schedules are more flexible, meaning you could get a job during the day and still do school at night, or take a vacation during the school year and make it up during summer. That's basically how it works.

I am now in high school so that's why I am online schooled. When I was younger I did it in work books

Since I am terrible at math I have to (get to) do math though the summer.
Also if you are interested in a subject you can learn it instead of just "boring" things

I homeschooled for a year in middle school because I got sick. I remember spending a lot of time on the internet.

Just to set your mind at ease...or upset the applecart for those who trust Brittanica exclusively, here's a recent study showing that it's no worse. Personally I never use only one source for any information.

I keep censoring my own posts to this thread - dumping them completely, actually.

Everyone should do what they feel is best. Everyone's circumstances are different, too.

Since Hot Topic debates (besides fish related topics) are not allowed on the forum let's keep the thread in the spirit it was started.

Thank you
