My family very much wants a triggerfish. We have a 55 gallon tank and we want to add corals soon. The fish in our tank are: true percula clownfish, yellow watchman goby, royal gramma, 2 peppermint shrimp, a red fromia starfish, and 2 emerald crabs, but one we haven't seen for about 2 weeks. One fish we are going to get is the yellow tang. Can we get a triggerfish? And what ones can we get?

The only Triggers that you might be able to have would be the Humu Humu or Niger. However both will eat your crabs, shrimps and possibly your starfish. They are not reef safe fish, also when they get big enough around 4"-5" they might start to go after your fish, the yellow watchman goby and royal gramma.

Sorry no triggers for you those fish are classified as aggressive fish and should only be with aggressive fish such as groupers , eels, puffers, Etc. How about a dwarf angel or tangs, wrasse. There are a lot of fish that will do good with the fish you have. Here's another option get another tank just for the aggressive type fish.

Triggers are so cool!!! Doesn't sound like you're compatible. Might be time to get another tank!!

triggers will try to eat your invertebrates. the less aggressive trig is the Niger trigger and they need at least a 75 gallon tank due to the fact they get at big as 19in! maybe a huma huma but theyre on the aggressive side, however. sorry dude.
