Hi, I'm wondering a good plant that would be good to just fill in the empty spots in my aquarium. I haven't added any fish to the tank yet so I'm still debating on whats going to be in there. I'm liking either the Java moss or the Lilaeopsis, but I'm not sure which if I can add both and not have to worry about them competing or overload the tank.
I had Java Moss and it spread like weeds. It really needed trimming. But I think it's Lilaeopsis I have in the tank now, and it spreads, but slowly. And not as densely, so it's prettier in my opinion. The moss just became a dense carpet after a while, and if I left it for too long it got thicker and thicker, covering everything.
I'm planning on starting with shrimps and then later on adding either guppies or tetras. I'd like something that they can hide in but allow the fishes to swim around as well. Blyxa Japonica looks somewhat nice cause it looks like they grow out.
