Any Suggestions For Cold Water Shrimp

I'm thinking of getting a shrimp for my 5 gallon freshwater tank, but I don't know what kinds would do well in a tank that could get as cold as 65°F and as warm as 80°F

Currently my tanks are around 70° with no heaters, it will be whatever the ambient temperature of the room is.

The tank contains 2 very small fish, 4 small tadpoles, some small pond snails, and various copepods and worms, and microscopic organisms (natural ecosystem).

I had a crayfish in there, and that seemed the perfect balance for cleaning up scraps and eating dead plant matter, but it outgrew its tank mates at about 1 inch long and started chasing the tadpoles for lunch! Plus it also ate live plants

So I'm thinking a shrimp might fill the place of the crayfish?

For something that's relatively large and might be a good replacement for the crayfish, I recommend Amano Shrimp, Caridina multidentata. Since they're temperate, they'll do well in those temperature ranges. Mine have even lived in temps as high as 84-86F.

Have you ever kept an amano shrimp in a small aquarium?

That's good to know.
A side question I have is would it be a good idea to quarantine the shrimp at first, since it will most likely come from Petco?

I didn't have to deal with quarantining my current livestock because they all were in together when I got them.

I don't. Just dump them in there. Make sure not to add the pet store water into your aquarium. Use a net.

Yeah, I definitely would not want to add any pet store water in there. (Also I'll be keeping an eye out for overall health of whatever else is in the tank they have the shrimp in, sometimes there are dead or dying fish... won't be getting a shrimp from that tank!)
Thanks for your help.
