I'm thinking of getting a shrimp for my 5 gallon freshwater tank, but I don't know what kinds would do well in a tank that could get as cold as 65°F and as warm as 80°F
Currently my tanks are around 70° with no heaters, it will be whatever the ambient temperature of the room is.
The tank contains 2 very small fish, 4 small tadpoles, some small pond snails, and various copepods and worms, and microscopic organisms (natural ecosystem).
I had a crayfish in there, and that seemed the perfect balance for cleaning up scraps and eating dead plant matter, but it outgrew its tank mates at about 1 inch long and started chasing the tadpoles for lunch! Plus it also ate live plants
So I'm thinking a shrimp might fill the place of the crayfish?
