Any suggestions for a begginer plant keeper?

Hello guys! I'm in the process of starting a ten gallon planted tank. It will be heavily planted. I plan to use no CO2, as far as ferts I'm gunna use seachem flourish comprehensive. I'm also going to use eco complete gravel as well. Any suggestions one some plants that I should put? I'm also use the CFL bulbs daylight 6500k 15w.

 

I would suggest anubias. I have had the best luck with this type of plant. It has grown really well in my 10 gallon with eco complete and the same type of bulbs that you are planning to use. I got mine from Petsmart in one of those tubes so they should be fairly easy to find. When you plant it you can either attach it to driftwood or plant it in the substrate, which is how I planted mine. Just be sure to leave the rhizome exposed. Good luck with the new tank!

 

It all really depends on your lighting, you said bulbs 6500k 15w. So, one bulb or two that are 15w each or just a 15w bulb? Sorry, got confused here, lol.

a 10gal. planted tank? I have one of those with 2 15W fluorescent bulbs..
I have a fairly wide selection of plants, my caution with anubias is that in high-light they tend to attract more algae, which may build up enough to block off the light and kill the plant.
Java fern can be pretty hardy, but it doesn't seem to like a heavy current.
Vals do pretty well in low light and high, anacharis is hardy as long as the temperature of the tank doesn't exceed 78*f.. Creeping Jenny is doing ok in my lowlight 20gal., and I know that can do well in high light as well.
Really, the lighting will tell us a lot about what plants work well for you.
