that'll be tricky.. you could try luring them out with food or removing the wood or with teamwork, shoot them out one side.

HI Cody, did you get the rest of your fry out yet? I am wondering how you did and how they are doing in the smaller tank....because I have about 20 fry in a breeding net in my 10gal but I want to move them to my 2 gal. to give them more space and also because I think their momma is about to give birth again and I'd like to move her in there, the net, until she has the babies. I tried moving her to the small tank but she freaked out and starting acting like she was dying or something so I moved her back and now she's seems ok. The other female mollie I have was picking on her last night and I've seen my male platy do the same but not as bad. She's kinda sitting all by herself and I have no idea when she'll pop! I wasn't here for the last birth and I didn't even know she was preggers!!!

yes I did...I thought there was only two but I ended up finding 4 more...well I like took everything out but the gravel...I wanted to do a good cleaning like under decor and everthing but I didnt want to suck up any fry...it was a pian but after clearing it out I got them....I woudnt put her in the 2 gal you might put her in shock and that might delay the birth or even cause pre mature depending on how far along...make sure she has places to hid...my tankd was good but....I always wanted to add a piece of wood...and I added some mopanI wood and then the next night she had fry...I'm guessing she felt safer and had the fry because she could avoid the fish or it was just her time...just make sure there is spots were you think she could go to feel safe..and plus if they she has the fry when you gone theey need to hide...when one of my females had her first batch I was gone for the weekend...and my mom noticed them..I'm 15 ..I'm not a 30 year old who lives with my mom just so youknow...but they managed to survive until I got back a couple days later...20 is a lot of fry ...who is the mother ...I have mine in the 5.5..and it works nice the 3 might get crowded as the grow on unless you have a lfs or friends that will take some of the fry...feel free to ask me questions anytime and ill try to help....how long have you been fish keeping I have for a year and I learned alotttt...I'm not an expert but if you a beginner I can understand you problems

Hey thanks for reply so fast. Yeah, I think she did get a little freaked so that's why I put her back in the bigger tank and she seems fine now. She hasn't been eating though for the last couple of days except for last night, she did eat a little. She pretty much keeps to herself either close to the water or over by the breeding net where the other fry are. I think she is their momma too as they are a little bit orangy and she is orange. Although, I've noticed some black showing on the very tips of her fins but I don't believe it's any kind of fin rot or anything. I think it might be just some change in coloring. I think I read something about pregnant fish changing coloring a bit??? I want to do a partial water change in the small tank before I move the other fry. Hopefully I can do it tonight as I really would like to put "Mommafish" in the breeding tank so my other female plantinum molly won't pick on her.

FYI - next month I will have had my tank going for a year. I used to just use the 2 gal but I didn't have a filter on it and my nitrates got out of control and I wanted a bigger tank so we bought the 10 gal. Course, I still didn't know there was this whole science to fishkeeping. Got my water messed up a little and had a sick fish but now my water seems to be under control but now I've got these babies!!!

lol that's how it works...when I was younger we had goldfish we gave up on it the 5.5 was in the box in the basement ever since...then one day I was walking through walmart and saw bala and I love sharks so I bought it ...then did research and wow..it was a long and bumpy road...I started on august 2 of 06....then I got my 20 gallon on my birthday on aug 26 of 06 so on suday my 20 has been running for a year...its crazy though...like I learned so much and I really don't even know that much...I love being able to read these posts and be able to answer questions...I still want something bigger then my 20 I want a 40 or 55....if you ever upgrade I would recommend keeping you ten up for fry ..or just to have more fish lol..I have had so many types of fish screwed up everything...I'm sold on guppys now .as soon as I got them I set my 5.5 back up for the fry....now you said she hasnt been eating much....now is she preg again you think ...now my preg females are pigs...the males are afraid of them...but I guess I'm afriad of girls that are being aggressive lol....and normally I will respond fast if I'm online..
