How long do the little cylinders last ?

Please don't push the DIY - I failed miserably at that Tried it on 2 tanks, not sure what I did wrong, but it was not a good thing in the end.

 

I have read mixed reviews about it. I plan in getting some for myself in the near future. I think I remember someone said the cylinder lasts just over a month at a high setting. I'll get back to ya about that.

And I wouldn't need it to be up high - I'm looking at it for a 5 gallon tank to start with

I'm pushing for one for my birthday - my husband needs very clear "hints" as to gifts !

 

The CO2 on it itself on it is good, but the diffuser is quite awful in my experience. It's suppose to supposedly "liquefy" the CO2 in the water, but I doubt that. I now use the ADA glass diffuser and bubble counter on one of my tanks and a small atomic diffuser for my other tank. You can easily buy just the co2 tank itselft

 

Is there a reason you don't want to try excel first? For a 5 gallon tank a bottle of it would last you a long time. Much cheaper too.

Well, Despite a minor gush of c02 as I was securing the regulator it seems to run fine,I only set it up 2day(fluval 88) ,I felt quite nervous opening the regulator to release the c02 ,I wasn't expecting it to need so many turns, its simple to run,Easy to regulate for 1-2 bubbles every 4 seconds the diffuser has broken up the c02 well, the minI bubbles have dispersed in to a nice mist just as they reach the surface The diffuser must be situated at the base of the tank for ideal results...... though I am pushing it my tanks 200L and I will need re-fillables in future I'm using a hagen natural plant kit alongside.
