Self-proclaimed artist. lol I did a lot of anime and cartoon drawing starting in elementary school through sometime in college. Then life got in the way. I've done some painting too, but I've been doing a lot of digital art lately. I've also been doing vector art for...many years now. lol I just got the new iPad pro, and OMG it's a total game-changer!! I'm having tons of fun with it getting back into drawing, and my sketches look like they were done on paper. My old stuff is still out on deviantart though.

This is one of the vectors that I did a few years ago. Just adobe illustrator and a mouse.

Artist here too! I do a lot of different things, largely self-taught. I'm mostly doing sculpture lately, but I also do illustration and design, in both traditional and digital media. Paint, ink, poly clay, paper mache, whatever.

I like to make realistic, fanciful turn-of-the-century style curiosity cabinet specimens with no animal parts. It's what I'm best known for, I think. Like this one, "Magalie's Kitten" (mostly paper mache):

IMAG1435_1.jpg

I sculpt in polymer clay too! This is a baby snow dragon. He's about 6" tall.

This is a batik silk painting, "Autumn Haiku" (love centipedes)

Mural done in the Volunteer Lounge at a nature museum. "Not to Scale"

Logo I made (with my husband!) for our wedding this year <3

quickweddinglogo.jpg

My husband is an artist also, he mostly does cut paper work and design. I love it! I'm *seriously* considering making a whooole pile of goldfish-theme works... I'm so smitten now with my fish!

edit: Oh yeah, I also published a coloring book a couple of years ago!

I'm not very good at it, but I love to draw/sketch pictures, I like drawing knights and mideveil weapons, horses, fish and various other animals.

Quite a few awful erase marks and his wrist looks twisted and the shading around the shield is messed up but I suppose it's not too bad considering I was only 11 or 12 when I drew this.

I drew a pretty realistic hand putting on the ring of power (yes, I like the Lord of the rings) but it has math scribbles all over it.

The drawing of my character is pretty old, about 3 months, so I’ve changed my style a bit. The cat pic is of my friends cat Murphy, and the edited photo of art is not my art

So now I have a tiny laptop pc thingie I can show you some of my work. These are last two I've done. Some of you may seen them on my other post but since this is a new one I'll share here lol.
The dog is in color pencil and the cat is pastel that I did on plain old sand paper from the hardware store.

I haven't produced anything yet. When I do it'd be Dubstep not 'actual' music.

Honestly, I don't know what that is, lol. I love to play the piano but I have never had lessons so I just play by ear or what I think up myself, I can't read notes so those are my only options.

Here's some of my art, I mostly work with graphite on paper but I do work with other stuff on occasion. Not all of it is that great, some is from when I was 14. The better stuff is at the top half. I don't have any pics of my sculptures at this time though.

My art

Those are pretty dude! Way better than mine .
Rylan all of those cars are concepts. I'd love to see them became real driving cars someday . I like doing kind of 'portraits' because there's less hassle then doing the entire creature. I like drawing cars though . And I can't draw any sort of humanoid lol.

Thanks, I've worked really hard over the past several years to improve, trying to go as realistic as I can. I ought to dig up my very first drawing from when I was 14, it's awful . Though, no matter how hard I try I can't seem to draw anything other than animals. I also can't really draw much other than profile view, can't seem to get the proportions right.

Dude I can relate so much! I try to draw 3D animals, then I stop because I realize it's disgusting . I've been working on a pencil drawing today that I'm pretty proud of (which I'll upload later ).

I did draw a bear once that was facing forward, but I still had to make it look left. Snouts are impossible to draw face-on. And I once drew an orangutan face-on, but it was only because they have flat faces and it still wasn't that great.

Part of my problem I have with drawing anything other than left facing profile, is due to my hand. I had an accident when I was younger that severed the muscle for my ring finger, I don't have much movement or strength in half my hand because of it.

I'm assuming this is aimed towards me? If so, thank you so much! It's currently hanging in my moms house, I don't want to take the original away but I could look into making a print of it somehow if you're interested?

The 2nd time someone has wanted to buy one of my pieces lol, I feel special

HI everyone,
though I am not very good at it I have recently gotten back into drawing and painting and was wondering who else was into that type of thing as well. I have started playing around with watercolors and am finding it fun, challenging and very interesting. Much different from oil painting which I have done in the past. I'd love to hear what mediums other people here enjoy. Also if anyone would like to share their work that would be awesome. Thanks!

I've done watercolor, oil paints, colored pencils, charcoal, graphite, ink, pointalism with paint. Colored pencil, graphite and ink were my favorites. The pointalism with paint I did turned out really good though

Cherie G
  • #120
Wow, sounds like you have done quite a bit, never tried pointalism, looks like it would be challenging but I love the effect. I really like drawing with graphite as well, especially using the woodless graphite pencils. Oils I liked using quite a bit but the clean up is kind of a pain. Tried acrylics for the easier clean up aspect but did not like it nearly as much as oils. If you don't mind me asking what types of subject matter do you like to draw/paint?
