errm I sketch a bit and most of my drawings that actually get colored end up as indefinite WIPs. Does that count as being an artist or am I just lazy??As the title states, are there any artists on here? I myself am an artist, or at least I used to be. I used to draw all the time in middle and high school. I also went to college for visual arts and graduated with my associates in arts. I personally like pencil drawing and painting with acrylic paints. I stopped drawing and painting a couple years back but I'm trying to get into it. I had a bunch of extra canvases and paint from my painting days (they were surprisingly still good). I want this thread to be for anyone who is artist and wants to share pictures of their work. I will be sharing pictures of my work when I finish them.
Did you paint this ? I really like your style , your shading is great too.I have done it. Thoughts everyone?View attachment 850412
Thank you! I spent a couple hours sketching it out and several hours painting it. Over all about a day of work and a few days of thinking about it and looking at some of the manga beforehand to make sure everything about the character was right. I didn’t do it all in one day though. I did practice sketches one day, the “real” sketch the next day and painted it the day after.Did you paint this ? edit. Just seen that you used acrylic. And did this in 4 days. That’s impressive !!
I think that only makes it funnierOH!!! I'm so sorry, I didn't see you were from Australia! Please forgive me.
You need to pair up with someone who has skills/motivation but lacks concepts .I'm a conceptual artist, once I think about it that is usually as far as it goes.
My dad took up wood carving for a while , he made my sister a whale , he was carving me a whale too , the tail broke one day and he quit it I do have a lizard he made me though. It’s stored away safely.I make sculptures of my native fish out of wood!
I get Wood from California. The fins are small pieces of the wood I carve down. People ask for the carvings and I make them, so I actually do sell them, but only people near meMy dad took up wood carving for a while , he made my sister a whale , he was carving me a whale too , the tail broke one day and he quit it I do have a lizard he made me though. They are spectacular ! What did you use for the fins if you don’t mind me asking ? They really are a work of art. You could sell those easily !
Well you are certainly talented and I can see why people buy them. I would if I was closer to you !!I get Wood from California. The fins are small pieces of the wood I carve down. People ask for the carvings and I make them, so I actually do sell them, but only people near me
I like it better colored, like the subtle contrast between yellow/orange and blue/purple.love seeing all the talent in this thread! here's one I finished recently, though I'm not sure if I like it better colored or not...
