I have good news . Anthia has reached 20 years of age and so have all her shoalmates (this pic was taken today)

Anthia, at 9 inches, is the largest of my six Clown Loaches which were all purchased nineteen years ago on this date in 1995.
Since that date they have lived in my 6 foot x 18 inch x 18 inch 90 UK gallon (110 US gallon) aquarium which has powerhead-driven undergravel filtration.
Her shoalmates are Tiama, also female, and the four males Romio (largest male), Obo (small and pale) and TobI and Mac (identical twins!). I wouldn’t normally name my fish, but I’ve had them so long and put so much time and effort into their care that it became a perfectly natural thing to do.
Anthia is still growing (she was 8 inches when I posted pics 18 months ago). I realise I will have to set up a ruler on the aquarium to show her length, but as she was spooked by the ruler today I will have to work on this later.
Tiama is the other large female and she is 8 inches. The males are all close to 6 inches. Anthia and Tiama have always had fights but they always make up afterwards. However, Anthia is now more obviously the dominant fish.
The feeling among other Clown Loach keepers is that when I bought them at 1½ “ they were very likely one year old. So, I feel it is reasonable to celebrate their 20th birthday today.
More pics are in the Pictures sticky at the top of the Clown Loach section.
