Angels spawning?

HI fellow humans

My tank was cloudy last night and didn't have time to clean it so I went to work today and when I came home ready to clean, my angel kept attacking me - she's normally really friendly and likes swimming against my hand so this was really wierd! I noticed there's eggs on the glass. How can I tell if they're fertilised cause I thought both Angels were the same gender! Also, if they are fertilised, what do I need to do to help them along? I've never had fish breed before and was most definitely not prepared!!!! They keep like blowing on them and like pushing the water with their fins - is this normal? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Congrats on the angel eggs!! How exciting you will know if they are fertilized if they do not turn white. Some of them may turn white because the male doesn't always fertilize every single one. After 3 days if they are fertilized they will hatch and start wiggling. After about seven or eight days they will start free swimming.

It sounds like what the parents are doing is perfectly normal. They use their fins to Fan the eggs and keep them healthy and oxygenated.

How big is the tank and what other fish are in there with them?
Do you have other tanks you can use for the babies?

How about some photos LOL I love angel fish...they are my passion and I enjoy breeding them!

Thank you my tank is 160 litres and has loads little caves etc to hide in. I have them as the only Angels, 2 rams, 2 adult bristlenoses, 4 baby bristlenoses (about 3mm long so far), clown plecos, a couple of otos, neons, glowlights and 3 black widow tetras which are now about 7 years old! Don't want to replace them so won't get more but can't bring myself to rehome them :L I have a quarantine tank but that's currently being used for the bubba BN's though it does have the option of turning the floating 'nursery' into two parts. Is there anything else I need to know at all??

I don't think you will have much luck with that many tank mates...

It can sometimes take angelfish several tries to understand the spawning process so they will likely fail the first few tries.

But again that tank is very heavily stocked so unless you can remove the babies they probably won't survive. You will need to do daily water changes for the babies. And the best thing to feed them is freshly hatched baby brine shrimp. That's the only thing that has worked for me.

If you have any specific questions let me know

Thank you for all of the help earlier. My sister decided it was hilarious to wind them up by putting her fingers by the eggs and stressing the fish and moving quickly next to the glass and tapping the glass. I've just come back to the tank 3 hours later to find all of the eggs are gone. My questions are 1. Did they eat them? 2. Will they ever spawn again? And 3. If they do, how long will it normally take? I'd like to be prepared this time and definitely make my tank OFF LIMITS! To any visitors.... Sorry about this
