In the new year I'm buying a 30 or 40 gallon tank . I'm trying to decide wether to keep 2 angels or a nice school of rummy nose tetras. Thoughts/ideas?

I would get the largest tank you can, and in that tank (40+), you could keep both angels and the tetras.

Would the angels have any problems with the tetras?

It is said that you can keep any combination of fish, with a large enough tank. In a 40+ gallon tank you are much less likely to experience any problems than in a 29. Whether or not the angels become ruthless hunters, will remain to be seen. Someone else may chime in with experience keeping those fish together, but I think you'll be fine.

You'll only have trouble if they paired up, and the tetras aren't itty bitty while the angels are big.

If you only get one angel, you don't have to worry about territory. They do very well on their own.
