Where is the best place to read on angelfish? Theres way too many sources online? Also what grouping do they belong to? Do they inhabit the entire tank or do they mainly stay to one area?

Have a look at the Angelfish profile right here on Fishlore!

Hopefully someone who keeps/breeds them will be along.

Agreed, they are all over fish. Although I would say primarily mid to top dwelling.

Angels like a tall tank, and a 20H is perfect for them.

My 'Zoe' is primarily a mid dweller, but swims all over.

Being a cichlid, they can be territorial and aggressive toward other tank mates, so you do need to be careful when stocking angels.

Was there some specific info you were after?

Here's the profile: https://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-Angelfish.htm

I don't know what you guys are talking about, the only place I've seen my Angel is at the top, pressed against the glass begging for food

Mine stay in the middle unless it's feeding time. Then they're the first ones to the top. After dinner, they're rooting around in the sand with the cories until they're sure every bit is gone.

Good morning,

My Angel Fish in the 33g long are also all over the place and do not stay in 1 particular area of the tank. It's heavily planted and they love to explore.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one.... My Zoe is always "starving"

Zoe's even figured out to grab the bits that stick to the glass above the water surface

It's heavily planted and they love to explore.
Plants are an almost 'must have' piece of decor for Angels. The love it.

Too, I forgot to mention that Angels are incredibly smart. They know what's going on outside the tank

Angels are only "hungry" when they know you're in the room. I agree- they're pretty smart, and figure out which foods are the best really fast, as well as how to get them.

My angelfish swim all over my tanks, although I'd say that most of the time they're in the middle of the water. They only go up to the top when I'm feeding them, or they want me to.

I'm considering getting 2 for my 55G. has some live plants not alot. Dont have a lot of options for live plants since my lighting is considered low. I have ghost shrimp lemon tetra's, harlequins, penguin tetras and a rts. My rts is surprisingly well behaved doesn't chase tank mates very often and stays at the bottom. don't forget my clown pleco
