Angelfish locking mouths - is this Spawning?

As some of you know, last week my Angelfish spawned for the first time. I didn't get to witness it, or any pre-spawning behavior, I just found eggs. The eggs weren't fertile so they turned white and one day were gone. I was left wondering which of my angels were male or female, or if I had two females.

Well, tonight I've noticed them locking mouths, over and over. And I believe that's a sign of spawning, again. So, is this a sign I definitely have a female and a male?

 

Sexing angelfish can be tricky. The only reliable way is to look at the breeding tubes...once they're about to spawn

If the tube is thin and pointed, then the fish is male. If the tube is blunt and short, then the fish is female.

All other male/female characteristics, such as a humped heads and different-shaped fins, are just hints and aren't usually enough as proof.

For the longest time, I thought my male angelfish was my female, and vice versa. It was only when I saw my 'male' laying eggs did I realize that I was wrong

 

For sure. It's so late here. But I'm staying up to hopefully witness them actually spawn, so I may sex them for sure.

Well, after lip locking and being in each others faces all night and day, my marble angelfish is now hiding in a cave with plants in front of it, away from the striped angel. The marble came out for a second, and the stirped Angel chased him/her back into hiding. Is this normal?

 

Guys I'm a little lost here. I'm wondering if I don't have a pair after all. The marble seems no longer interested in mating. It hides and runs from the other one now. Though when they had eggs last week, they worked together well no aggression at all. Is this normal?
