Angelfish Hanging Out Near The Heater

I recently just got two new little angelfish and all they have been doing is gliding along the ground or swimming next to the heater in the corner, why?

It could be a long list of things.

Could be the shock of new water. How did you acclimate them?
Could be your own water quality. How long has the tank been set up and what are the parameters (ammonia nitrite and nitrate)?

What size is the tank? What other fish are in the tank? What temperature is the water? Is the tank planted?

Your question is a loaded question that requires WAY more details to be answered!

I water acclimated them yesterday when I got them. The water quality is fine.
The tank is a 40 gal long, they are the only fish in there so could they not feel safe? The temperature is normally 81-78 degrees Fahrenheit, it is a planted tank with a little fake tree with holes in it and the ground is mainly covered up with dwarf hair grass which is still growing to fill up the bottom of the tank.

Oh and I forgot I have some anubias barteri.

And the current seems strong for some reason and I don't have a wave maker so I think the filter is making the current and the heater is on the other side of the tank.

But only the larger angelfish stays near the heater and the little one just explores the tank.

Do I need to up the tempature?
I don't think I should,but could he be cold?

They could just be settling in....sometimes it takes a few days.
Are they eating?

They ate after a couple hours of being introduced but I haven't seen them eat yet so I am going to try to feed them brine shrimp today.

Just guessing but angels don’t like a lot of current. Might be just trying to avoid it based on your descriptions.

Have you tried feeding them again yet?

I just fed them brine shrimp and they ate it and they seemed fine they were going after the brine shrimp, and I will put a sponge over the outtake and hopefully that works.
