Angelfish camallanus, more help please

Hello all, I miraculously diagnosed my sick Angelfish all on my own and it’s camallanus. Absolutely disgusting worms, she’s in quarantine but evidently I have to treat the main tank as all my fish will now be infected. So I’ve treated both tanks with the first dose of Levamisole bcuz it’s readily available where I live (lots of cows, horses, etc here) and some have already been expelled from my Angel as the quarantine is bare bottom and easily seen...if anyone is interested I can post a pic so u will know what they look like. My question is do I really have a chance of obliterating the worms from my main tank without completely stripping it and possibly euthanizing my fish? (Sand sub, 1 Pleco, 7 juvenile panda cories all in a 45 gallon) Should I euthanize my Angel who is possibly the most infected? (I really don’t want to and I’m very attached to her) Obviously I don’t want to do any of this but these nasty worms are very painful and I don’t want to cause my fish more pain. If anyone has dealt with this please I need some advice.

You absolutely do not need to euthanize the fish. This is 100% treatable. Studies on Camallanus found that infections die out after a few months even without treatment.

People use the wrong drugs or the right drugs in the wrong way then say it's nearly impossible to treat.

Deworming isn't that simple and repeat treatments are often necessary.

Ok good, I really needed to hear that from someone who probably has a lot more experience than me! I’m following directions and will treat again, clean tank again and again, etc. Thank u!

Hello, I posted a couple of days ago but only got one small response and I desperately need advice. My Angelfish positively has camallanus that I was somehow able to diagnose on my own. Before I realized what it was I quarantined her after not eating and acting lethargic for 2 days. My main tank is 45 gallon fully cycled for months with 1 Pleco, 1 nerite, 7 juvenile panda cories, sand substrate, wood, rocks, and plants....back to my Angel as she is the only one showing signs and also the only one U can visibly see the worms hanging out. Levamisole is easily obtained where I live so I dosed the Angel in quarantine and my main tank per according to my research most definitely is also infected. The plan I’m following after much research is to dose once, large water change and gravel vac next day, dose again on day 5, water change and gravel vac again 2-3 times and then finally dose again after 3 weeks from Day 1, water change and gravel vac again the next day. Done. I’m currently about to be on Day 5 and will treat everyone again. So my questions are will my sand and plants and HOB filter with media and second sponge filter with air stone all be clean from these worms after that? How do I get the worms still hanging out of my Angel to come out?? (She ate for the first time today in about 5-6 days so I’m hoping maybe that will make her poop and push them out, I have no idea) Should I euthanize my Angel as she is visibly the most infected but showing small signs of improvement. And what about my other fish that seem ok? I don’t want to euthanize any of them obviously and am attached to my Angel. However, this parasite is extremely painful, damaging, and contagious. Does anyone have any experience or advice? Also, how do u dispose of infected water? I don’t want to spread these nasty things so I put bleach in the bucket and emptied it out in the street. Wasn’t sure what to do. Please help and thanks so much!!
