Angel fish losing colour

Hey everyone.

My angelfish is black stripes and silver and the black stripes seem to be disappearing and then coming back again. What is going on???

Some types of Angelfish can actually change their colors, as well as make their stripes appear, and fade. This isn't out of the norm, and they usually just do it when they get excited, or sometimes they will do it when stressed. Is there something specific that you can tell is triggering it? Like right when you're about to feed it? When another fish comes near it that it could be afraid of?

 

My angels do that, sometimes they lose their stripes completely & within a few minutes they're back again,
it usually happens at feeding time when they get cross with other fish snatching their food.

 

I thought there was something wrong with my eyesight lol. The fish went quite plain grey and the stripes disappeared then then the next minute they were back. I panicked and thought there was something wrong with the fish

Hello,

Yes, many fish can change their coloring according to their moods, including Angel Fish. Mine do it also.
