Can eggs laid on side of tank survive? I didn’t know I had a breeding pair until tonight. Haha

Yes, they will survive. My Angels laid on the bottom of the tank and they survived. But, I kept them in a breeding tank and no one harmed them. Atlast most of them hatched but only a few turned white.

Those look very white, so that batch likely won't make it, however they can make it when laid on glass if the parents fertilized and are taking care of them.

I’ll get another pic tonight. Should I remove them if they are white?

Do you have somewhere to raise the babies?

The answer to that question will affect my answer to your previous question. lol

Yes. I have 2 15 gallon cycled tanks.

that will do for the first 4-5 weeks, but they will need something larger or their growth will be impaired and possibly cause them severe stunting.

I don’t think these eggs were going to be viable. They ate them after 48hrs. They were white.

White eggs are unfertilized, it was good that they decided to eat them. Fertilized eggs will be a clear/tan color and at the 48hr mark you will see two small dots in the egg before they hatch.

I’m going to prep my 15 gallon with a post for them and transfer them in a week. If they want to do this then I’m game. Haha

Well I didn’t transfer them to the smaller tank. Used the divider again when She was showing a bump full of eggs. Different daddy this time. She dumped the other one I guess. Maybe these will make it.

Those didn’t make it. We are on round three now. I added a spawning pipe in the tank and the next day they spawned on it.

If you can get them to use the PVC pipe again...that would be easy to remove and try and hatch them artificially.

Where in the process did they fail this time?

Are you sure you have a pair ? in the past I have had 2 females "pair up" and lay eggs together. That would explain no fertile eggs. It is so difficult to differentiate angels sexually that they sometimes make mistakes ..

Yes I’m sure. During the egg laying the large one never lays.

They aren’t fertilizing them. The male passes over them like he is, but he doesn’t. Very frustrating. I have video of the whole thing. They eat them within 3 days every time.

The PVC is still there, they just didn’t use it.
