I wasn’t sure where to post this so I figured I’d start here. We bought a used 29g yesterday and it came with a stand which seems pretty sturdy aside from the tipping forward part. We have 3 kids under 5 and would ideally like to have this tank in our living room.

Is there a way to stabilize it (the back is hollow, we thought about putting cinder blocks in the bottom to add more weight) so that it’s more stable? Should we just nix the stand and put it on a more sturdy piece of furniture?

And also, has anyone anchored there tanks before? Is there a way to do it?

Does the room have carpet or hardwood floors?
You can bolt it to the floor or wall, but that needs to be somewhat easily removable in case of plans change in the future.
