Ammonia Testing?

I use API master test kit for testing my tanks and I always get 0.25 for the ammonia reading. I do weekly 30-50% water changes and my tanks were all cycled beforehand, and all of my fish seem healthy. I also use Prime to treat water. Do I actually have 0.25 ammonia in all of my tanks or am I testing the water wrong? If you need more details I'd be happy to answer any questions. Thanks in advance.

This is a common issue, you're probably fine. People have reported this same problem for years.

Bluestreakfl, good information. I also have similar 0.25 readings when using my API Freshwater Test Kit. Interestingly, I also use Test Strips which consistently indicate Ammonia = 0.00

Been reading this a lot. Seem apI isn’t doing that good of a job with there test kits. Luv there color charts.... not. Other than test strips do we have other choices?
