Hi guys so I recently had a HUGE ammonia and nitrite spike and I don't know why. The ammonia and nitrite went both to 0 ppm a week later but the nitrate also went down 10 ppm. From 20 ppm to 10 ppm. Is something wrong? Do I need to worry?

The nitrogen cycle goes Ammonia -> nitrite -> nitrate. The bacteria took the ammonia spike then started replacing and processed the ammonia into nitrite the the nitrite into Nitrate. The nitrate breaks down and leaves the cycle. You have no problems at all you actually have a really good bacteria colony going.

Well thank you for complimenting my nitrogen cycle. lol. Anyway, I am so glad I don't need to worry. Thank you!

EDIT: My ammonia is always at 0.10 ppm. What will lower it? Will api ammo chips work?

Honestly that is nothing to worry about there will always be ammonia somewhere sometime. Or it could just be your kit falsely reading 0 as .10.

My ammonia is reading between 0 and 0.25. Like right in between. I am using api freshwater master test kit. So, it's nothing to worry about, right?

One hundred percent unless you start to see ammonia burns or poisoning on your fishes gills.
