American Cichlid Photos

If there isn't a specific board for your species, feel free to post your American Cichlid pics here on this board. Once we get enough posts on the species we can move any photos for that species into posts inside the applicable species board. Also, comments on photos are welcome but please move side-conversations to another post.

Thanks,
Mike

While your compliments on the photos are really appreciated, text-only posts will be removed after a while to keep the gallery pictures-only. If there is a discussion you do not want to loose, please start it again in a separate thread.

Thanks,
Armadillo

Here are my port acaras, that have been breeding recently but the fry are too small to be seen on the camera.

Here is a shot not taken not in an aquarium but in a lagoon in Belize, in 1985. I was looking through some old slides recently and scanned this one. Though the quality is not good (taken underwater with a simple Nikonos camera) and you can't blow it up much, I like it for the nice light and beautiful Vieja melanura ("synspilum"). There is also a mayan cichlid (Mayheros uropthalmus) in the shot.
