The plant is growing like a weed. I get a new leaf every 4-6 days. It is really dense but it won't grow any taller. Tank gets 8 hours of light each day. Tank size: 36 bow

Any help would be really appreciated
Thx

Is it an Amazon sword? Do you have pics of it? Sometimes trimming the outer slightly faded leaves will promote new growth. How tall do you want it? If it gets too close to the top of the tank there is a chance of it melting from the higher lights.

Try planting it more forward, it may not be growing tall because there will be less light closer up top in a corner so it grows dense and lower to maximize the light it receives.

Take that big grenade looking thing out of your tank and plant it right in the center. It'll give you a lot more room for other stem plants. Vals don't have to be your only option. Bacopa is a great stem plant that will fly to the surface under decent lighting.

I'm not. My dad made it for me. It has special meaning to me.

I know but I was going for a Amazonian biotope tank.

I have some Echinodorus BleherI in my 40 breeder. It has stayed relatively short, (about 4-6 inches) for about a month. If I’m correct, (which I probably am not) the bleherI type stays on the shorter side of the Echinodorus “spectrum”

Does that mean that it grew taller after that time?

It was growing pretty tall at my LFS (10-12)

No, it means that I haven’t measured the plant, and that I am only eyeballing how tall it is. The only growth I’ve seen on mine are a couple of new leaves and a runner hare and there.

As I said, I may be wrong, but mine haven’t grown taller at all.
