Amano Shrimps & Pygmy Corys

I am planning to start a planted 10 gallon tank (fishless-cycling). Planning to stock with 1x Honey Gourami, 6x Pygmy Cory, 5x Ember Tetra, 7x Amano Shrimp.

My concern is if the corys and the shrimps will get along. How often would I have to feed them algae wafers?

 

They would get along fine, I'd feed bottom feeder food instead of algae wafers since they are carnivoris. I wouldn't stock the tank how your planning though, the pygmys need a 15g, the honey 20 gallon with a group, the embers would work though.

What brand do you suggest for the bottom feeder food?

Actually got the stocking off a post on this forum; just swapped Nerites for the shrimps. Could you please suggest replacements for the Pygmys and the Honey? I really want corys in my tank. Had a tank with some Albino Corys when I was younger.

I wouldn't do anything besides the embers, maybe 1-2 male guppies(need to check compatibility temp, also it'd be 6 embers with the guppies). You could do around 10 embers in that size. No cories can go in a 10 gallon unfortunately. Others might have better ideas about what replacements you could do, but I'd keep it at a max of two fish species. Hope all works out well.

Definitely some stocking issues. Like stated above: gourami, cories, and most tetras (not 100%on this breed) cannot go in a 10g.

However, I can highly suggest a mystery snail for another bottom dweller!

Could be hard, small fish tend to need more of them. It's more like select one schooling/shoaling fish and you're done.

Yeah... starting to notice. Trying to find a fish that does well on its own with other fish in a 10 gallon is proving to be difficult.

 

You can have more than one species in a 10 gal

What about this?

8x Embers
2x Peacock gudgeons
2-3x Male endlers

My nerites never eat veggies (even though they're offered); they seem content to eat the biofilm and algae in the tank.

How would one feed snails?

I feed my mysteries Algae wafers, national geographic bottom dweller wafers, and a fesh veggie like cucumber and zucchini. Just buy, wash and cut the veg into slices. Then I use a veg clip to auction the slice to the side of the tank.
