Amano shrimp dead/dying possibly molting

I have an amano shrimp in a 5.5g. He was fine yesterday. I added some water wisteria from the petco tubes yesterday. He was going around really actively looking at everything. When I fed my fish this morning he was laying on his side slightly blue. He was moving a little bit, then we just "jumped" around and swam over to a rock and then slowly fell down and rolled a little. He is currently laying on his side legs slightly moving. He's turning more opaque and I don't expect him to be alive when I come back from class.

Water parameters
Ammonia: Trace<0.25
Nitrite: Added prime before I tested this got trace (probably a prime reading)
Nitrate: About 10 but could be in the 5-20 range. It's hard to tell
API master kit
Didn't test ph, I know my area has harder water and is more iron rich.

I didn't rinse off the wisteria before I added it so there could of been something on it. Also been having a diatom problem but it's been in decline for several weeks. WC are once a week anywhere from 20-50%. Temp 72, last night was first with heater (first time needed it).

Just got back. He's still and arched. Tried to net him and he moved and swam around.

I think it's an unsuccessful molt so far. Blue has gone away.

Did some reading and it could of been residual things on the wisteria. I did a 20-30% WC. He's just swimming around then rubs himself against rocks.

You probably need to up your GH

Shrimp need around 7-10 GH to molt without issue.

Key is RO water, low ammonia, 7-10 GH, 6-7 PH

Try Lowkeys GH+ or Salty Shrimp GH products

Thanks, is there a test for GH at all.

Just answered my own question via google. I'll look into it. Although he wasn't looking so good this morning again.

Figured I should post an update. I don't think its molting. He was obviously stressed, and his insides look a little white. He also swims around more. However today he is back to his favorite "safe spot" behind the filter, and even saw him picking off some gunk to eat. I did a large WC and diatom removal yesterday. It seems like he is recovering thought which is good. Does anyone have an experience with this?

This will be the last update and then I'm going to close the thread. This is just for anyone else who may have the same problem in the future. Shrimp is doing fine, he must of molted recently as his molt is stuck to the filter. He is still pretty reclusive (which is expected post molt) but is eating. I'm guessing he either had trouble molting (which seems to far in advance), or the plants were treated with something. Prime and WC made a difference (even my fish noticed the WC).
