Amano Shrimp Colors?

Hello everyone,

I've had my five amano shrimp for about three months now. Today I decided to add five more. However, at the shop I did notice that they have a different color than my "old" ones. They're more white and lighter in general than my other ones. My first five shrimp were also lighter when I first got them, but not like this... they were still way more see-through than these. Over time they've turned darker, but seem to thrive and do good.
My question is: should I be concerned?

Here's a picture of one of the new ones

And here's a picture of one of the "old" ones

I've read about muscle necrosis, but I don't think it looks exactly like that... They act normal and as seen in the pictures they ate like little pigs at the first feeding right after they were released in the tank.
Less than three hours after they were added to the tank at least one had already molted.

My tank is a 30 gallon long housing 10 amano shrimp, around 8 RCS and 2 BN plecos. I do weekly water changes at 25 - 30% and the tank has 10 plants as well.
Water parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 10 nitrate. The tank as been set up since early February.

Any thoughts/comments/advise welcome.

Thanks!

Mine are darker as well.
I believe it has to do with their diet. I think the newer ones just haven't had enough time to get full.

Thanks for replying.

Might have to do with their diet, yes. I don't know what they've been feeding them at the store, but they probably haven't gotten a lot of food. I also thought that maybe it had to do with the water quality, since I'm pretty sure that the water at the store isn't the best either.
I'm just really hoping that there aren't any issues per se and that they will look like my other ones once they settle in.
I also read somewhere that turning white or cloudy could be a sign of them having trouble molting.

Don't worry just yet, I think they just need some time. They probably didn't eat well until they were added to your tank.

I'm thinking in a week or so, they will look like the other shrimp in your collection.

I have five and they were purchased from three different places - a few were more opaque/whitish when I got them, but they mostly look the same now. Some of them have more, or darker, spots than others but with good care they are all nice and translucent and healthy.

You're probably right. So far they're all alive and eating everything I drop in the tank.

Yes, I've been to different shops as well and they definitely don't have the same colors and some are more opaque than others. I'm fine with this as long as it isn't a sign of illness.
I'm feeding them well and they now live in good quality water so I'm hoping they'll soon look like my others as I think my own look more healthy and "right" (in terms of what healthy amanos should look like).

Thanks for answering and calming me!

It can be a sign of illness, turning opaque or whitish. But right now it's probably just from pet store quality care and food. If you notice it down the line after you've had them awhile though, be cautious and start looking for issues. I lost the cycle in the tank my amanos live in recently and the first thing I noticed was a couple of them turning opaque - within hours they were all on their backs!! Luckily I straightened things out in time and they all survived.
