I purchased this female Amano with a male they both came clear with some stripes a couple of months ago. They mate and have babies all the time (none have survived because they're in freshwater) But now the female has been slowly turning brown to the point where she is completely brown now. Is there a reason for this or is it not even an Amano Shrimp?

Females tend to get pretty dark as they age. They can also display different colours depending on what they eat. It does look like an amano shrimp to me, looks to have spots on its side and the shape is right. Do you have a pic of it in the light? Here is my female, she's getting darker and darker as she ages.
