20 Gallon Tank Am I stressing my betta?

So I was wondering if I'm stressing my betta by putting him in the breeder box everyday. My betta ALWAYS steal my cory catfish food which makes him bloated. I don't want him to get bloated again so I put him in the breeder box. Is putting him in the breeder box stressing him out? Any advice for him to not eat it?

Hi, I would imagine it is quite stressful for him being being moved every day.
If you’re having trouble with him eating the cory food try crushing the corys food very finely & feed them after lights out, the corys will spend all night happily foraging getting all those tiny particles the Betta can’t find

Bettas are always hungry...what about putting the cory food into a basker and dropping it direct onto the gravel for the Cories. In the past I also tricked my Betta, feeding her in one area and at the same time dropping the food for the Cories at the other end of the tank.

Never thought about crushing the cories food!

My betta is rather easily distracted by me. Or maybe use a mirror to give him some flaring ecercise when you feed the cories. There are lots of different options. And yes, bettas do tend to be quite piggish...definitely not a new issue around here!

I actually break the wafers into 4 pieces and give them 3 of them in different place.

I give my betta and neon tetras in one place and while I'm feeding them, I put the wafers in. After my betta eats the pellets, he dive down and look at the gravel, finding the wafers and eats it.

Any time you capture a fish in a net, you are disturbing the slime layer that protects the skin from disease. Thus, only move your fish with absolutely necessary.

I am glad others have come up with ways to keep their betas from overeating.

Oh, I don't use nets. Only when I need to move my fishes to a QT. I use a breeder box. He stays trapped in the same tank.
