Am I starving my betta?

When we first got my daughter's betta, we were overfeeding him and caused him to be constipated. This was several months ago and we scaled way back. Someone just told me that I am not feeding him near enough.. is she right and we overcompensated?

All of our tanks are fasted on Sundays.
M through Sat, we feed the betta twice a day. In the morning he gets a single pellet. In the evenings, it rotates - M: single pellet, T: 1 blood worm, W: single pellet, Th: brine shrimp, F: single pellet, Sa: half a deshelled smushed pea (he doesn't eat most of this, the snail eats the rest). The worms and shrimp are freeze dried and I rehydrate them first with a bit of garlic juice.

Is this enough or am I underfeeding him? He seems healthy and happy.

Do you have a photo? I feed my betta two pellets in the morning, two pellets in the evening before going to bed. I need to mix up his meals a bit more, but that's his diet for now. Sounds like you need to give him a couple more pellets when you do feed him pellets. Is he looking anorexic, or healthy on his current diet ?

That sounds like plenty of food to me. I do not have a Betta but am planning to get one in the relatively near future, so i've done some research.
Betta experts will chime in soon!

A betta's stomach is about the size of its eye.I usually use this as a guideline when it comes to feeding bettas.

Depending on the size of the pellets,it is usually advised to feed your betta 2-4 pellets each day, except for one fasting day.

I feed mine 3 pellets twice a day which has worked well for him. He is over two now.

I never fed my bettas every day. Every other day, four or five pellets, then a treat (frozen thawed bloodworms or brine shrimp, whichever they preferred) on Sundays. Never had one die or get too thin.

I feed mine 3 pellets every morning, so I'd say you could at least feed two pellets every day if you wanted. Just my opinion.

Well.. it turns out, my daughter had been going behind me and feeding him more. So, he definitely wasn't starving! Ty for all of your replies, will use this to readjust his feeding.
