Hi, I have set up and been cycling a new tank. I test frequently and do water changes
Today these are my test results....
PH 7.6
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
GH 150
Alkalinity 120

Is there anything I am missing?

It is a 49gal bowfront.
I have an aquaclear 50, a sponge filter, a heater set to 76 degrees, substrate, rock caves, live plants, LED light set for 12 hours on and 12 hours off...

I do have 1 "feeder fish" (cost 25¢) in my tank that has been in there 3 or 4 days.
Pic of full tank set up.....

I’d say your ready just be very careful not to add it all at once. Also could we get a better picture I’m very curious as to what kind of feeder fish it is.

How much ammonia was it processing?

I didn't write down all my testing numbers but ammonia was 2.0 two days ago.

Hard to get a pic of the feeder but here is a cropped shot

That sound good. If it was processing 2ppm ammonia within 24 hours there should be enough bacteria to handle a fair size school of fish.

You do need to either keep adding ammonia to keep the bacteria fed or add fish soon so the bacteria doesn't start dying off. With just the one little fish in there right now producing ammonia the bacteria will start dying off.

I was reading one of your other threads and if I understand correctly you do have another cycled tank. The beauty of having one cycled tank is one never has to go through the long drawn out cycling process again. You can just move some of the cycle from one tank to another by moving some seeded media over to the new tank.

I actually keep 2 dual sponge filters running in my main tank for this. When I need or want to set up another tank I just move a well seeded sponge filter over to the new tank to instantly cycle it.

So....
How about if I moved 1 sponge, 1 gourami, and 1 diamond tetra from my established tank into the newly cycled tank.....

Thank you so much for the help and advice!

That should work well but if it was processing 2ppm ammonia I think you could move more than just one tetra. I think the little guy would be more comfortable with some friends.
