Am I Feeding My Guppies Properly?

I have 6 guppy fry in a fry tank and I feed them twice a day (Every 12 hours) to prevent overfeeding but it seems like every time I feed them, they end up spending the next hour scouring the bottom of the tank to find food. On top of that, they chase each other over food. I feed them a little pinch every time. Should I feed them a little more or is it normal for them to go inside little places for food?

They are always looking for food no matter how much food you give guppies food. Just in there nature.

I would feed them about 4 times a day. They have tiny bodies which means tiny tummies and things move fast when you’re that small.

If you turn the temp down to 72 for the fry then you only have to feed twice a day. That's what I do with my Cory fry. Feeding four times a day means you have to keep up really well with water changes.

Corys are not guppys. Also, there is six tiny fry. If you have to do more then a normal water change for 6 fry smaller then a pinky nail feeding them 4 times daily, then you are definitely over feeding.

Right but all fry are similar in growing and feeding. I have around 50 fry so I do 2 water changes a day with 2 rounds of sinking pellets.

50 fry vs 6 fry....

Right but twice a day isn't bad unless you want them to grow quickly. Just depends on the tempature of the OP's tank. If it's 78 then 4 times is on but if it's like 72 and your feeding 4 times a day, that's just over feeding

I have 100+ guppy fry. I feed them 3Xs a day. But I am gone 2 days every week. They do fine over the weekend but are plenty hungry when I return.

They don’t grow as quickly with the 2 day fast, but no losses and are plenty healthy.

Overhere also lots of fry throughout the year but I feed them just once or sometimes twice a day. There will always be sufficient food in there even if you're not able to see it. Those fry will grow up just fine. And all my fish won't be fed by me once a week. So, they can use their natural behavior to search for their food themselves what's been left on the bottom of the tank. They do well...
