Alternate Foods for Betta?

My Betta only takes to the bug bites pellets and frozen bloodworms. He won’t touch any flakes, any frozen brine/mysis shrimp, frozen daphnia, or live baby brine shrimp.

That’s all I’ve got in my fish food arsenal. What else do you guys feed your Bettas? I’d like to give him more variety than the pellets he eats 90% of the time. He loves bloodworms but only feed that 2x per week. Thanks for any tips!

Well I think what you are feeding him right now is good enough variety. They should only be fed snacks like bloodworms 2x a week anyways and pellets the rest of the time. That’s good. Pellets should be their staple diet

Mine have always gone nuts for brine shrimp, but not so much for daphnia. If you just want a different form of food, try the bug bites flakes. If he likes the pellets, he might like their flakes, too.

Bug bites have other formulas you could try. You could take off the pellets he likes, or if you have food sitting around that he doesn't eat use that, soak it in some garlic paste. It has health benefits and should also be very tempting for him.
But i type of bug bites and 2 times a week blood worms for the important extra protein should cover the dietary needs of a betta. you dont need to be Too woried.

Thanks, I've been thinking of trying out garlic guard. I'll give it a go!
