overnight my nitrites dropped from 2ppm to about .75ppm. does this sound like the cycle is ending? also, I had been seeing nitrates at about 40ppm, and added some tetra conditioner wwith nitraban, which is supposed to get rid of nitrates. I just checked my water and the nitrates are reading at 10ppm. Is this ok, as long as my ammonia and nitrites are at 0? should I sotp adding this?

It sounds like you are nearing the end of your cycle. I would think just another day or two. Nitrates below 20 are good. As a routine, I would get in the habit of controlling nitrates through water changes rather than through chemical use.

thanks! I plan on doing that, I just used that as a water conditioner, the nitraban was just added sorta like how prime works I think.

yea, we don't do any water changes until we get 0 on ammonia and nitrites, then we clean up the tank and do a full water change and are ready to go.
