Alkalinity Is Very Low In My Tank..

I have a freshwater tank and I did a water test with "Tetra Easy Strips" yesterday to see if the water quality is okay. Apparently, the Alkalinity is very low so I purchased "Tetra Easy Balance" to adjust it. It's been four hours and there has been no improvement at all. I know it can take a while for the alkalinity to adjust but I think something should have changed by now... Should I buy another product or should I just wait?

You really don't need to mess with your pH as most fish can adapt to a wide range. What exactly was the pH reading? As long as your pH is stable, it's fine. I'd stop using the product completely.

    And welcome to the forum!

Personally i prefer and recommend liquid test kits for testing water quality. I use api marster kit plus kh gh and copper test kits added on for my fishroom.

What was the readings you got for your tank?? Also what's your stocking??

I have found depending on the tap water that lack of water changes leads to a plummeting alkalinity.

Does the test strip not give you a pH range?

My tanks have low alkalinity, and I love that. It really depends on what fish you have.

The ph of the tank is 6.8, which I believe it's okay...

And also I have Mickey Mouse Platys

As long as it's stable, that pH is just fine.
