My 15gal tank has green algae growing on all sides of the tank . This algae is really hard to scrub off ,youd need a brillo pad it seems like . It's so hard to get it off and it grows in tiny circles .

What causes this the of algae and how do I prevent it?

Thanks

Reduce your photoperiod or add nerite snails.

I have a whole bunch of snails and an alage eater and when they try to eat it , it won't come off. I have to scrub it off and it just grows back

Have you tried the black out method?

Looks like Green Spot Algae. Nerites will eat it, though not much else. I hate it almost as much as Black Beard Algae.

Is it just nerite snails ? Because I have the zebra thorn in my 5 gal I could put in there

I'm assuming no lights ? I haven't heard of that

Of the commonly kept snails, just Nerites to my knowledge.

No lights for 3-4 days straight.

Is that safe for fry because I heard they need lights for their spine to develop

If it's a glass tank you can use a razor blade to remove it from the walls.

Agree with JenC. I have this algae scrapper which uses razor blades.
