Algae poping up

    I have this brown algae on the side of my tank i cleaned it once has not come back as strong cause my snails are taking care of it.But what caused it?

    not enough lighting... do you have any plants... that will help keep it away!

    Sounds like Diatoms. It's common for newly cycled tanks. They will go away on their own in time.

    It is known that stronger light makes iit go away but then green algae will take its place. But it's different between a non-planted and planted tank for combating algaes.

    Yea i figured out why i just put new sand in and it says silica causes it :d

    Oh... I missed the two "WEEKS"... man, I should really start reading more thoroughly... I thought it said two "YEARS" Oops.

    Yea i should prob edit that lol its been two months since i started it, but added sand 2 weeks ago.
