It definitely looks like algae to me. How long since it last molted?

It looks like algae or something like that as rubbed off like the green on the bridge, it could also be from green food like broccolI you may be feeding, it may also.bd off a heater hes climbing up trying to get out, but it's not diseased, hope you don't mind me asking but the pot and bridge are the only hiding places he as if so may I suggest something like in the photo for him to tuck away completely so he can go right inside unseen

Sorry I forgot to respond back, he for some reason has not molted for almost 2 months which is starting to scare me ive had him for 6 months also and he has only molted 5 times since I had him
And I should add more hiding places for him to hide, and also his tank is algae infested

As they get older the moulting process gets longe . Dont know your setup but clean water is a must for crayfish they also need veg like spinach and kale in the diet to, post a pic of the whole tank not from a long way away

Maybe he didn't moult so long because he doesn't have a big enough hiding space. It may stress him out and lower his immune system.

That's a filter feeder so substitute with sprunila powder into the water flow that will help him

That's a very good point you made there so fish get more hiding places in, once a month to moult is fine you will see it go to 5weeks and so on

That's great your already doing it, my armoured shrimp like it as well, you could also try a good shrimp pellet and crush into fine powder or anything that as calcium in it, its all good stuff for them

I will definitely find a better cave of some sort where he can go in instead of the terra cotta pot, and that's a good point I never thought of them getting stressed and not molting makes me feel sad now

I wasn't even thinking he would like a secure place to molt since that is when they are at their most vulnerable. For a temporary solution until you get something more secure feeling for him you could put your bridge directly in front of the pot to block out some of the light entering it.

That may help him a lot
