I had some different algae over the last few months and have been able to rid my 10 gallon of it but this one imseems a little trickier.
I think it's black bearded algae. I thought it was soil that was stuck to the plants at first because it really smells like soil. Very earthy smell. It's very hard to get off with my turkey baster so I've used my hands.
    Is this black beard?
    Any suggestions on combating it?
Do I need to combat it?
    Thx guys and gals 20190720_123307_003.jpg20190720_123232.jpg

Looks like cyanobacteria to me. Chemiclean will knock that out in two days.

first pic looks like black beard to me spot dosing with h2o2 or flourish excel with a syringe will kill it. Depending on the size of your tank Siamese algae eaters will wipe it out but will not cure the problem.
