Algae Id And Solution

I set up a fluval spec v about 3 weeks ago and planted it a week or two ago. Yesterday I noticed this algae and remived as much as I could but today there is already much more of it. The photos are not great but it is basically bright green balls of algae suspended in the water with long green threads coming out of them. Right now it is mostly contained to the two rocks but is growing rapidly and is on a couple of my plants. The rocks are covered in small bubbles too but nothing else is.

The tank is filtered but not heated yet and I hope to eventually add 2 african dwarf frogs. On Wednesday I dosed 4ml of Tropica Premium nutrition for the first time. I set it up 3 weeks ago and haven't done any water changes since.

Please could someone let me know what kind of algae this is and how to stop it taking over? Thank you

It looks like Green Spot Algae & Diatom Algae. The best solution is snails.

Thank you for the reply. I thought both of those types of algae clung to and grew on surfaces? This algae has long threads and spheres suspended in the water, none on the glass. I will probably get a nerite snail anyway.

I see what you're talking about now. I think you identified it in your description, its Green Thread Algae.

I looked up green thread algae and that seems to be it. Seems like amano shrimp or nerite snails are the simplest way of getting rid of it.
