Algae Growing A Lot In One Place?

I had posted previously about algae growth in my 55 gal tank. Is This Too Much Algae? I'm happy with the algae situation in my tank now except for one specific spot. I run two Aquaclear 50 filters in the tank. In the middle of the tank I have a large piece of driftwood ( I think spider wood? not certain) with several clumps of java moss growing on it. It's big enough that one end sits in the direct outflow of one of the filters. That one area gets much faster algae growth than anywhere else in the tank. Can anyone tell me why and/or is there anything I can do about it?
Thanks

My guess is that the uppermost part of the driftwood is closer to the light & receiving elevated oxygen & nutrients from the filter outflows. All factors benificial for algae growth.
