Hello all, just got back home from an upstate trip and my tank looked alil cloudy I'm not sure if it was algae in the water or something else but I used algae fix and I'm not sure if it's an ok product? Any suggestions? Did a 40% water change and going to do another tm

Personally, I don't really use Algae Fix since if it is algae, it will come back if the cause of it isn't addressed. You might be better off troubleshooting to figure out what caused the cloudiness and try to correct that issue before resorting to a short term fix. Cloudiness can also be caused by a bacterial bloom; I'd also check your parameters to make sure nothing there is awry.

Ok thank you, I was thinking a bloom

Ive had success clearing up similar cloudiness by inserting a piece of filter floss into the filter. If it is bacterial, then the floss will only buy you a little time before the cloudiness comes back.

I also agree not to use algae fix.
If you cannot figure out what it is, and the floss doesn't cure it, then you can get Tetra lifeguard, which is kind of a catch all medication, but I've had good success with it. Cured ich, black algae growth, and fin rot. Good luck!
