Albino Tiger Barb Smaller Than The Others - I’m Confused

    so I’ve had my tank for about 3 months and I’ve only had these few tiger barbs but my albino is oddly smaller than the rest I’ve had them all for the same amount of time and I got them all from the same place

    Probably just genetics in the albino's line may not allow for the same growth rates, I know my electric blue Jack Dempsey took years to reach half the size as my standard Dempsey took in less than a year.

    Welcome to the forum! I’m curious what size is the tank? What filter are you using? How often are you servicing the filter? Tank temperature and recent water parameters? How often and what are you feeding? Is the albino feeding as aggressively as the others?

    Not an issue.

    Just like one person is tall and another is short, these genetic differences affect fish as well. As long as the fish is eating and acting normal, there's nothing to worry about!

    I just read an article that stated the albinos tend to stay smaller than the others.
