Albino tiger barb chasing other fish

Hey guys,
Quick Question. I have a 55gal. I've had 2 neon tetras and 1 tigerbarb(albino) for about 6 months by themselves.....Well I finally went and got some more fish monday. (1bala shark, 2tigerbarbs) The neons are fine but the albino dosent like visitors.
Non-stop constant chasing the smaller of the tigers around. I isolated the albino for about 5 hours yesterday and he's back to his old tricks.

Does this just go away after a wile when a "pecking order is established"????????
Poor little guy. he sits in a corner and waits to be chased around.

thanks for the help

The neons and tiger barbs both are schooling fish they really need at least six of each. and to answer your questions yep that's what tiger barbs do but with a larger school the aggression will get spread around instead of just one getting picked on.

The albino may be the belligerent one because albino critters tend to have worse eyesight. It may just presume (for the time being) that everything near it is a threat.

I'd add loads of hiding places, I'd cut the view of the tank by planting tall plants in the middle, and I'd move the existing decorations so that the dominant one feels slightly less territorial. Hope this helps.

well a funny thing.......I did put the one in time out. I don't have a q-tank. so I'm looking around the kitchen for something I can use. the only thing I found was a food processer container(blade removed of course).

Let me tell you about fishie time out
My daughter had a Danio that was being awful so she was going to move it to another tank. She filled a 1 gallon jar with tank water and the danio then set the jar in the bathroom floor while she re-arranged the tank it was going into. when she came back the danio was dead. My husband told her she scared it to death because she had set it in the floor in front of the toilet. It thought she was going to flush it for being bad.
Of course that isn't why it died but it makes a good tease, he is forever asking her if she has scared anymore fish to death LoL

eventualy the bala will eat the tetra not because there mean but they do become very large,,, and if you have a school that's more spread out you will not have to worry about one fish getting picked on...I love balas there ever interresting fish and fun to have..they will grow pretty fast though
