Air pump ect???

I have a 29 gallon and I think it needs more airation. I just don't know how to set up a pump thing... can someone show me a pic? ATM maybe? how to connect ect.? sorry I'm new! but I want the best for my fishies!!

 

maybe clarification will help. where do you guys place your air pumps?

 

Most people place their air pump under the tank and in the storage cabinet, if you have one. Here are pics showing how my Whisper Air Pump is set up to deliver air to my biological filter in my 10 gallon tank:







The Air Pumped by the pump is first passes through a check valve, to prevent backflow, then passes into a gang valve, which divides the airfolw evenly between the two lift tubes for the biological filter.
